To your knowledge is this daughter Florence a daughter of Harry A. Lanning? It sure looks to me that she could be.
And it is quite possible you have the answer to my question. If so have you any info, and if not maybe she is a missing link in our Lanning line.
Getting closer to putting my 3rd book on my Dad's lines the, Lanning/Rhodes/Way book to print. Betty just finished editing, editing and sent the first two books and they are in print. My Dad's lines tally over 2000 pages, the printer we use only prints books containing 700 pages max, so we had to break it down to a Rhodes book, a Horton/Rhodes book and finally our Lanning book. That will teach me for doing so much research:(( crying:(( crying. Betty needs a break from all the editing, etc she goes through each book 4-5 times...a lot more patience then I have for sure.
Trust all is well with you folks, were doing right well normal aches/pains of aging.

Hiya Cousins,
OK. I have spent a few days trying to get an answer to the interesting question you posed. As of right now i still don't know. Harry is the son of Arthur who is the son of Richard who is the son of Edward and Eleanor. Harry's widow and her new husband Frank Randall also show up in the 1920 census living in Nankin. Florence is age 12 and referred to as Lena.
I went to google.com and typed in "Harry Arthur lanning" in parenthesis and the darndest thing showed up. Just one link with family names and dates. When I went to that link it was all in Russian. I will continue to try and track down an answer.
Congratulations to both of you for all your hard work with your research and printing of the books. if you plan to see copies of the lanning book i would like to buy one.
We are plugging along on this end of the country as well.
Happy Spring, Sue

32 An interesting story behind John and Jennie Gove's children being named Small vs Clark.
I worked with Pam Small Beebe, daughter of Jim and Rosalind Rhodes Small, who lives in Columbus Warren Co PA during 2008 in helping her collect information that may give a total picture of how this name change came about.
John apparently died in WV, I'm not going to list any dates that I might have as this is just an outline type writing. Jennie and her three children are then found in Crawford Co PA, she married to a man with the last name Small. The three children on the census records also carry the Small. Now was there an adoption by Small? That information may lie in wait in the Meadville Courthouse.
But the bottom line is Donald Small is by blood a Clark, and therefore his children carries the Clark blood also.

35 Adelia Baker by reports is supposed to have married a Thomas Lee. Unfortunately, we don't have her dob, but looking at the children of William..Thomas b 1819, William 1833, Amelia b 1826. We certainly don't have a listing of all their children born, and I'm sure there were more than just three or four. Checking census records for her father William 1850 he has no Adelia listed with him.
1860 census Pittsfield Warren Co PA there is found a Thomas Lee 26 yrs b 1835 married to a Delia 17 yrs, makes her born abt 1841. I've not been able to find a Delia, Adelia on census Warren Co PA b 1841 except this one.
1870 census Thomas nor Delia Adelia are to be found.
So with that said I'll leave it to future researchers.

36 An interesting story, years ago we received a picture of my Great Grandfather Francis Spaulding Lanning, in his Union uniform, he served in the Civil War.
Upon receiving the picture Betty and I both saw a person that we seemed to both know or was very familiar to us. But, we had never laid eyes on this or any other picture of Francis.
I don't recall just how we finally hit upon who Francis looked exactly like, but it was, and is my nephew "Ticky" Harold Jr. Rhodes. The splitting likeness is amazing. Gene pools.
Ticky today is a Drilling Supervisor for a company that drills for natural gas in PA, OH and other close by states. His two sons, Shawn and Kris both work for him on a drilling rig.
Ticky also likes to ride his Harley...

37 I do believe the death date, 15 Sep 1888, for Hepsey White, wife of John B. Robinson as listed online records for Scofield cemetery Warren Co NY is inaccurate, incorrect.
She is listed at age 61yrs widow 1900 census Stony Crk Warren Co NY. If we note her birth month being September and the year 1838 it is clear to where the error has entered the equation...right?

Trying to locate Philo on any 1850 census I entered Philo Essex Co NY and up pops Philo Odway..it is the right Philo. Interesting a son 3 mos of age is listed as Bazel or Begel, this has to be Royal?
Some folks, online have Philo's parents listed as James Ordway1787-1872 and Asenath Day Percival 1789 ? 1827. James was certainly in VT 1840 with a male old enough to be Philo, 18-19 yrs of age. I will leave the information here for future researchers.

39 It is of note the following, Edmon Conde and family are found on this census but of note the other Condes' above and below him:
1880 census York Washtenaw Co MI Jessie Conde 67 yrs NY NY NY Farming, Rachel W. 51 yrs NY NY NY.
Edmon Conde 58 yrs NY NY NY Farming...his family plus sister Susan Conde 81 yrs NY NY NY.
Floyd Conde 25 yrs MI NY NY Farming, Emma 20 yrs MI NY Can, George W. 8 mos MI.
Lydia Conde 63 yrs NY CT MASS, daughter Elizabeth Thoppson (Thompson) 40 yrs NY NY NY, son Arthur J. Conde 28 yrs MI NY NY Farming.
The following article is taken from an online book History of Washtenaw Co MI published 1881 page 1426:
John E. Conde, farmer, sec. 33, P.O. York, was born in Saratoga Co., N.Y., Feb 4, 1822, and son of John and Polly Conde. The subject of this sketch emigrated to this county in 1833, and in 1852 was married to Polly A. Johnson, who was born in New York, in 1829. Of the five children sent to seal this alliance, 4 are living---John, Samuel, Elmer and Charlie. Mr Conde has worked hard since his residence in this county, and the reward of his toil is shown by the 120 acres of
valuable land which he possesses. Himself and wife are members of the M.E. church. Mr. Conde is a Republican.
The perplexing item in the above article is the name of John's wife being Polly A. Johnson. I have her name as Anne Jones. This was name was taken from her death record that I copied off MI web site. The problem may be that her son, John being the informant, did not know his mother's true maiden name.
Unfortunately, I've not been able to locate John Sr. on any MI census. If the statement is true that John Jr. emigrated to Monroe Co MI 1832 then where are they on the 1840 MI census? Not
Conde, John Edmon (I08860)
40 On Line family tree has Abigail married to a Bordine Mosher, I question if this is a true fact.
They claim she is on 1850 Saratoga Co NY census..I don't find her there. She is on the Warren Co NY census with her parents. As she is found, 19 yrs of age on the 1860 Warren Co NY census.
1870 Stony Crk Warren Co NY there is an Abigail Mosher 32 yrs husband Bardine 33 yrs.
So if Nahum and Hezibah's daughter Abigail is 19 yrs 1860 how does she get to be 32 yrs 1870, with children 13,12, 10 and 3 yrs? Yes, the 3 older ones could be from a 1st marriage for Mosher.
Hey checking the 1850 Warren Co NY census there is found a Bardine 25 yrs and Abigail 22 yrs Mosher with children Bardine jr 3 yrs, Abner 1 and Lester 7 mos.
I rest my case.

Boyd, Otis, 53, whose body was found after three months search will be buried in private funeral services Tues. Apr. 22, 1947. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bessie Boyd, and one brother, Cleo Boyd.
2012 Oct 22 Received several newspaper clipping from Union City library about Otis' body being found. In a nut shell there was no murder, as I had thought possible. By the story his body was found buried under 2 feet of gravel along French Creek, but no foul play was suspected. On the face of the headlines one would think as I, WHOA, no foul play. Reading further into the article a young boy was meandering along the creek, saw a galosh, for you youngins, a galosh is/was a rubber boot worn over ones normal shoes in winter or wet weather. As the boy tugged at the galosh he pulled it out of the gravel and ahh! a foot and leg was revealed. Immediately he ran for home to summon help. An autopsy revealed no suspicious injuries to the body, examination of Otis' heart valves indicated that the victim may have died from shock. It was reprted by friends of Otis' that he had been in ill health during the last few months prior to his disappearence and just recently suffered an attack that confined him to his home for more than a week.
Otis and his wife, Bessie had no children, besides Bessie the only other survivor reported is his brother, Cleo Boyd of Erie.

The only reason I entered this Trask family is that Agnes attended the funeral of Aurilla Barnes Way Lanning 1908 Chautauqua Co NY.
Aurilla's sister Clarissa married a Silas Trask, they were found on the 1860 Crawford Co PA census and none after that.
No doubt there is a connection with these Trasks but for now this is all I have.
2011 Oct...Aurilla Barnes Way Lanning was Agnes' aunt.
